How do you order your custom Art Print online?
Are custom Art Prints high quality?
How long does it take?
The Six steps to order your custom Art Print.
With online shops, you can easily and affordably select art prints that can be created just for you as custom-sized canvas prints, custom-framed prints, and metal prints, and even digitally see it on a sample wall before you order it. Unfortunately not all online services are the same high quality you would expect from Art Prints. I have tried several and the quality can vary quite a bit. After years of trial and error, I recommend and use Fine Art America Prints for my Art Prints Shop ( Tim S Murphy’s Art Prints Shop )
Step 1: How to select your perfect image.
Always choose art that moves you, speaks to you, or engages you. If you like an artist’s work you can affordably live with the artwork you love. Great art adds to the quality of the space it is in. When choosing art prints for a room, try to select art that is also based on the color scheme of the room. But most of all choose art that appeals to your taste and says something about you as a person, a family, or as a business. Art Prints can add life to a room and inspire you over many years.
Step 2: How to choose your correct size.
Rather than trying to guess a size that you think may fit on your wall, it’s best to use a measuring tape to be sure. What I recommend is to use painter’s tape to roughly block an outline of a rectangle on your wall of a size that fits your space. Stand back and look at the tape on the wall from different angles. How visible is it when you walk into the room, or when you are seated in the room? Does the area have enough light to evenly illuminate the artwork? When you have finished making any adjustments to the taped rectangle, so it feels like the right size and placement for the room, then you can measure the new size and use that dimension to choose your custom art print. Keep in mind that when choosing a size for pieces above furniture, the bottom of the frame should be between six to eight inches above the top of the furniture. Also, try to keep at least 6 inches between hanging artwork and remember that these are all guides and the size and placement should feel right for you.
Step 3: How to choose your art print materials.
There are many options for materials to have a customized art print made of. If the original is on canvas, you may want to choose a canvas print to have the same physical presence as the original. You may also love the image and want to choose a different type of surface. Custom-sized canvas prints can be displayed with no frame if they are “gallery-wrapped,” that is with prints on the sides. Custom canvas can also be framed as flat prints with colored mats to match your room’s decor. Metal prints are shiny and slick for the modern feel and need no frames. They also slightly levitate out from the wall to add to their contemporary look. Prints on wood panels are great for rustic rooms and beach houses and show the natural wood grain through the print. Let your taste in materials lead to the type of Art Print you choose.
Step 4: How to choose your matting and frames.
You can use framing styles to maintain a uniform aesthetic of the room, matching the styles, or as a contrasting accent that stands out. If you select a flat print in a frame you may want to select a mat to tie the art print into the rest of the colorful decor and other art in your room. Framing and Mats can help make any Art Print seem at home on your walls so think creatively.
Step 5: Hanging your Art Print
Unboxing your art print you will find complete hanging materials supplied. When hanging an art print on a wall, the artwork’s center should be 57 inches (145 CM) from the ground to match the average eye level. When hanging art prints above furniture the bottom edge of the frame should be between six to eight inches (15 to 20 CM) above the top of the furniture. If you’re hanging a group of art prints on a wall you can use a symmetrical layout evenly spaced. Using an odd number of art prints and stacking them can create asymmetry for a less formal look. You know your tastes the best so use these suggestions as guides.
Step 6: Allow for Ample Production and Shipping Time
Art Prints require 2 – 8 business days to print and manufacture before shipping, depending on the product and framing. You can see the specific lead time for each product when viewing the product on the shop website. Products will ship from the manufacturing facility located nearest to your destination address. Please note – even if you select “overnight” as your shipping method, time is needed to print, assemble, and package your art.
