The setting of this artwork is on a train platform that nods to the show it was created for, Art In Motion at Penn Station NYC, October 2021. The artwork’s setting also references a level, Deer Market, as players await the Crypto Whales who might change the market direction. The title “Whale Street Station” is also a play on words referencing the old and the new Wall Street.
I use toys, game pieces, and crypto symbolism as a tool to illustrate the many different games and roles people play in life. I inject humor and depth showing that most people are not playing by the same rules as one another, and most are oblivious to this. Contrasting the games are those who decide to pursue their true purpose, and they are represented as the figure glowing from within.
